A.I. is a Job Killer

Posted

It seems as more people quit their jobs due to these common reasons: low pay, lack of benefits, need flexibility
to care for children and loved ones, burnout, rude supervisors, poor customer service, etc.  If an essential employer cannot hire
human workers, they have to turn to Artificial Intelligence, or AI.

The public should know that AI is considered a "job killer."  I do not trust AI because it is not always accurate.  I
have read an article recently that AI is gradually taking over the trucking industry, which is a scary scenario.  I
would not trust a robo-trucker to safely drive down a steep grade, make hairpin curves safely, or detect runaway ramps if the brakes fail.  I
doubt that a regular car would be able to pass an AI truck safely.  GPS systems are not always accurate as
human truckers would collide with low clearances and the risks would be higher for a robo-trucker.

Facebook AI systems are punishing innocent people for posts that violate community standards.  If a person searches for a way to appeal, there is no way to speak to a human representative.  In my experience, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, does not respond to Better Business Bureau complaints.

It is time to redefine the importance of human labor.  If all tasks are handmade, then it is more reliable and
durable than if a robot were to make it.  The truth is that AI would not reduce human error, especially at fast-
food drive-thru kiosks, home construction, transportation industries, courtrooms, and so forth.

The AI sector in the STEM field needs significant re-evaluation.  Human workers with skills are still needed to
ensure accurate quality control.  Employment security is crucial to today's society because AI is considered destructive.
