In an April 10 Enterprise column, Senator Marsha Blackburn praised President Trump for “ushering in a new Golden Age for America.” Did you hear similar praise, staged for national TV: that long table of cabinet members, dozens of MAGA hats spread out, and members, one by one, praising Trump in a litany of ego stroking? Elon Musk even told Trump that his was likely the greatest administration ever (April 30, 2025).

Trump’s ego and narcissism are dangerous. He is great in his own eyes in so many ways:

  1. So great that women don’t mind if he grabs them…wherever (Access Hollywood tape 2005, released 2016).
  2. So great that he can “magically” clear a crowd and hold aloft a Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church in D.C. (June 1, 2020).
  3. So great that Executive power “Trumps” the judicial rule of law (some rulings by his own appointed judges) and the legislative power of the purse and tariffs.
  4. So great that he can speak Ukraine into being as THE aggressor.
  5. So great that he is Alexander the Great again, the conqueror who marched through several continents. Our Great One only wants the Panama Canal and Greenland (for strategic purposes, of course), Gaza (for a new French-style Riviera), Ukraine (for its minerals), Canada (we need a gigantic 51ststate), and the Gulf of Mexico (hereafter known as the Gulf of America by the stroke of his Presidential Pen).

I am embarrassed by such blatant narcissism. Aren’t you?
