The Greenfield board of Mayor and Alderman approved and adopted the third and final reading of an ordinance to increase citations in the city of Greenfield. The increase will go from the current $100 to $130.

Police Chief Brian Legons informed that board that as of October 1, the police department received a $16,000 grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office which goes to equipment and overtime for officers working traffic enforcement. This was the first time that GPD received the grant. Legons also reported that as of this week, the police department is fully staffed and up to par.

The board also announced that tonight’s board meeting was the last for three Alderman. James Roy Pope, who has served 12 years (three terms) with the board, Chris Turbyville who has served four years (1 term) and Kelly Keylon who served four years (1 term). Keylon actually sent her resignation this week due to moving out of the city limits.

Early voting starts October 16 – 31 and Greenfield Mayor Cindy McAdams wanted to remind everyone to get out and vote.

The Greenfield Senior Citizens Center will be having a chili lunch fundraiser on October 22 at 11 a.m. and the lunch is $9.00 per person.
