Sophomore Westview quarterback, Graham Simpson, has picked up an offer from the University of Alabama.
Simpson already had some spotlight on him before his Freshman year, but after the 2024 season, things have begun to skyrocket for the young man. During his freshman year, Simpson completed 75.8 percent of his passes for 4,135 yards, 57 touchdowns, and only one interception. He also added two rushing touchdowns.
Among the many accolades that Simpson has already received, he was named Max Preps National Freshman of The Year and finished as a finalist for the Mr. Football award. He also broke several records last season including breaking his brother Ty’s record for passing touchdowns in a game with seven in a week one win over Dresden. Graham would go on to break his own record in the season finale win over Covington with eight touchdown passes, while also breaking the Tennessee state record for passing yards in a game with 624 yards.
Alabama has familiarity with the Simpson family, as Ty Simpson is competing for the starting quarterback role as a redshirt junior. The Crimson Tide were set to host UT Martin back in 2020 before the global pandemic forced teams to play conference only schedules at the power five level, and many FCS programs played a spring season in 2021. Graham and Ty’s father, Jason Simpson, is entering his nineteenth season as the Skyhawk’s head coach.
Although Graham has no rating yet from 247Sports and On3, Alabama joins an already loaded list of colleges recruiting the 2028 graduate. They join the likes of Arizona, Arkansas, Boston College, Duke, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Syracuse, UCLA, and Maryland
