Phil Steele Tabs Oshae Baker to All-American Squad; 13 Skyhawks Earn All-Conference Honors

One of the final preseason publications has been released as Phil Steele announced its Preseason FCS All-Americans and all-conference performers leading up to the 2024 season. Highlighting the list is senior defensive back Oshae Baker earning his third All-American honor of the preseason while 13 individuals from the University of Tennessee at Martin football program garnered all-conference honors.

A consensus preseason All-American, Baker was one of four members of the Big South-OVC Football Association bestowed with All-American honors by the publication. He joins offensive lineman Zack Gieg from Southeast Missouri, linebacker Bryce Norman from Southeast Missouri and defensive back Tim Coutras from Tennessee Tech on the list.

The Big South-OVC 2024 Preseason All-Conference Teams consisted of three groupings with UT Martin claiming eight first team honors, seven second team selections and one third team pick.

Do-it-all back Narkel LeFlore earned three first team selections at running back, kick return and all-purpose. He was joined on the first team by wide receiver DeVonte Tanksley, offensive guard Drake Carroll, linebacker Jaylon Sharpe and the defensive back duo of JaMichael McGoy, Jr. and Baker.

The second team featured quarterback Kinkead Dent, wide receiver Zoe Roberts, offensive guard Josiah Tingley, offensive center Vance Van Every, defensive back Josh Hastings, long snapper Colton Peoples and Baker as a punt returner.

Wrapping up the preseason honors was defensive end Charles Perkins earning a spot on the third team defense.
